Fat transfer can be performed to augment the buttock, breast, or aging face. Fat transfer is performed by first harvesting fat through liposuction of areas where the fat is not wanted. This fat is then prepared and transferred with careful technique to an area that is lacking volume. Dr. Lindsey performs fat transfer to the buttocks using an ultrasound for safety, this is commonly referred to as a "Brazilian Butt Lift". Fat transfer can be performed to augment breasts without an implant, or to help improve the results of a breast augmentation with implants. Fat transfer is also performed for rejuvenation of the face, often in conjunction with other surgical procedures such as a facelift or eyelid surgery. What Can I Expect After a Fat Transfer?
General anesthesia is used for fat transfer surgery. Often you can go home the same day however each plan is tailored to your needs and you may be required to stay overnight. Liposuction is performed first to extract fat from areas of excess. The fat is then washed and prepared with care. The fat is then transferred with liposuction cannulas into the area where augmentation is desired.
During an ultrasound-guided BBL, Dr. Tavakolian will begin by performing liposuction on targeted areas of the body and then cleansing the extracted fat. She will then inject the fat using the ultrasound to identify the layer above the deep gluteal fascia where it is safe to inject fat. This is done to avoid the risk of fat emboli previously known to happen during this procedure. You will require compression garments for several weeks after surgery and will need special support pillows to avoid direct pressure to the buttocks.

I went to Dr. Tavakolian for a recommendation on filler (face/lips/whatever she recommended) with a stipulation of walking out “looking the same, but better.” I basically told her “I want to look the same, I am your canvas,” and she delivered - completely and very subtly. I was (and am) incredibly pleased with the outcome. I’ve received compliments on looking refreshed. (I’ve even been carded since!) I completely trust her recommendations and will be returning.
