What is Breast Implant Surveillance?

Breast implants are not meant to last a lifetime. The life of breast implants varies by person, and all breast implant patients might face additional surgeries. Dr. Lindsey is certified in breast implant ultrasound imaging surveillance as a clinical tool to assess breast implants for problems including ruptures and fluid collection. When you have your consultation at Highland Park Plastic Surgery Center, Dr. Lindsey will discuss the use of breast implant surveillance  for routine follow-up. If you have had implants placed by a previous surgeon we also offer convenient in-office surveillance exams.  Contact our office in Southlake, TX to learn more.

What Can I Expect With Breast Implant Surveillance?

Implant rupture can be a complication of breast augmentation surgery. Often ruptures are "silent," and no symptoms appear. Dr. Lindsey Tavakolian at Highland Park Plastic Surgery Center follows The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommendation that women with silicone implants check them with ultrasound imaging starting 5 - 6 years after the original surgery and every 2 - 3 years thereafter.

Ultrasounds are incredibly safe and are a trusted method when it comes to breast implant surveillance. Dr. Lindsey has been trained and certified in breast implant surveillance with ultrasound imaging.  A breast ultrasound is not painful and usually takes just a few minutes to complete.

Dr. Lindsey Tavakolian is an incredible artist of a surgeon. She listens carefully, plans your surgery studiously, advises you abundantly, and ultimately molds your body beautifully. She has a true passion for and talent for mommy makeovers. I am forever grateful for what she has provided me - a body with natural curves that demands confidence and that made me feel brand new. After having 3 big babies and breastfeeding them all, I was left with a body that no longer felt my own. Dr. Tavakolian used her careful and practiced hands to craft exactly what I desired. I underwent breast augmentation and flank/abdominal liposuction after in depth explanation of whether or not more surgery could provide a better result. We agreed ‘less is more’ and I am incredibly happy with my result. I have never felt more comfortable in my own skin. If you desire a beautiful and natural appearing outcome, look no further! Thank you so much, Dr. Tavakolian!!
