Dr. Lindsey Tavakolian performs labiaplasty to trim labia minora to appear more even in length with the labia major. How Does a Labiaplasty Work?
Many labiaplasty procedures can be performed in our procedure room with local anesthesia, so you may drive yourself to and from our office. A labiaplasty can be performed with a trim or wedge technique to remove extra tissue, and then the remaining skin is sutured together.
You will require around one week to recover after your labiaplasty to allow discomfort and swelling to abate before returning to normal activities. Dr. Lindsey recommends applying ice packs or cold compresses if needed to reduce swelling. You should not engage in sexual activity or use tampons for 4 – 6 weeks following your procedure. Patients typically have visible improvements immediately but final results are not visible until swelling resolves. The improvements of labia rejuvenation are long-lasting, but natural aging, childbirth, and weight fluctuations may alter results.
