20s: Skincare Slaps
Skincare
-Focus on establishing a basic skincare routine that includes cleansing, Vitamin C antioxidant use, moisturizing, and SPF protection.
-This is an age when collagen production begins to decline, and early signs of fine lines and sun damage may become more noticeable.
-In your early 20s consider introducing retinol if you have specific skin concerns, such as acne or early signs of sun damage.
-In your mid 20s incorporate retinol into your skincare routine permanently (unless actively trying to conceive or pregnant).
Skin Procedures
-Invest in microneedling every 6 months in order to stimulate collagen production, reduce the appearance of acne scars, and reduce the appearance of neck lines.
-Talk to your provider about medications, chemical peels, and laser procedures to correct skin concerns from prior sun damage or acne scars
Injectables
-Neurotoxins like Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin for face wrinkles should be started in your twenties in order to prevent permanent wrinkles from forming.
-Filler can be used to help balance facial features in this decade, my favorite is improving a weak chin or jaw with filler!
